Comments Policy for The Dig It Down Under Blog.

This policy will change periodically. Please check back from time to time.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you.  To ensure that this blog is a pleasant place to visit, I have developed a comments policy.

Comment Post Time:  All comments are moderated in order to maintain the integrity of the blog.  I will try to moderate (this means to check them and post them) comments as quickly as possible.  Please don’t resubmit your comment if it does not appear straight away.  If you leave a comment on this blog and it does not appear in a reasonable time period, and you know that it does not violate these Comment Policies,  contact the blogger at:  ddu@digitdownunder.com.

Length:  If you have a lot to share, please consider summarizing your entry with a link to continue reading it – perhaps to your blog entry.  Ideally, your comment would be about 200 words. 

Language:  This is a blog for the general community. Profanity, flaming (hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users) and/or the use of threatening language is not allowed. 

Content:  A comment which does not add to the conversation, runs off on an inappropriate tangent, or kills the conversation may be edited, moved, or deleted.  No personal attacks are permitted in this blog’s comments. You may question or argue the content, but not attack the blogger, nor any other commenter’s. Failure to respect fellow participants on this blog could result in removal and blocked access.

Privacy:  Never share private information within the blog comment.  This includes phone numbers, addresses, email addresses etc...

Links:  I trust you will only provide links to nice neighbourhoods and sites.  Links to bad neighbourhoods will be deleted and the comment may be edited or deleted. 

Excessive links or links for web site promotion will be removed.  Prefer no more than 2 links.

Links will be removed if they don’t work and also if they link to a landing page that is under construction. 

Signatures:  Please keep them short and do not include link to your web site.

You are welcome to add your website’s link in the designated URL box just below your name and e-mail address and your name will automatically be hyperlinked.

Please don’t use anchor text in the name box, please use your name.  That way I can respond to you by name rather than to Dear “Anchor Text”.   Unnamed comments may be deleted.

Subscribing To Comments Via E-mail

Please provide a valid email address.  You will not be subscribed to a mailing list as a result of subscribing to the comments.  If you use an invalid email, your comment will be deleted.
If you wish your comment to be private, (not viewed by the public) please email your comment to ddu@digitdownunder.com.

Editing Comments:  I will always attempt to keep the core meaning of any comment that needs editing for reasons of clarity or brevity.

I reserve the right to edit or delete comments as I feel necessary.

Blatant spelling and grammatical errors will be edited and serious edits will be notated at the end of the comment.

Comment Spam: I take comment spam seriously and all IP addresses used for spamming will be reported to the internet blacklists, the ISPs/hosts for the offending domain will be notified, and the owner of the IP block will be notified of the problem.
