Vegetable Patch - The Original Garden Beds.

Here is the main bed of the main vegie patch. Daffodils are on the left side and far side. I pick from this lot for the house. The arches have climbing 'telephone' peas in various stages of growth. The bushy greens are rocket, which we have been feasting on all winter. The silvery plants in the foreground are globe artichokes. You can see the white dolomite lime that the beds have been dressed with. Apart from the remaining remnants of winter eating, the soil has had compost added and weeds dug in, in preparation for spring. The bed is about 4 meters by 4.4 meters.

D Shaped secion of the main vegie patch (left). You can see the main bed in the distance. More rocket and corriander and some parsley. Approx 4 meters by 2.5 meters.

J shaped leg of the main vegie patch, with the D shaped bed behind. The main vegie patch is to the right of the picture. Those sticks sticking up at the right hand end of the J bed are raspberry canes. The variety is Williamette. Approx 4 meters by 1.23 meters of growing space.

Here is the J shaped bed from another angle. The small tree in the foreground is a Kafir Lime tree. I use the leaves to make a mean curry. I've planted chives around the base.
New Vegie Patch

This is the vegie patch near the circle. The small tree is a blood orange. This bed is about 3 meters by 2.5 meters. As you can see I have created a little flood plain in the middle so that any water cannot escape the bed. The bed is raised and well drained so there is no danger of water logging.
