Camelia Japonica Pink

Camelia Japonica

Hickaroo Jongi

I was given this Camelia as a gift and what a gift it turned out to be.
The flower is much like a mandalla with a beautifully symetrical display of 'icing pink' petals.

Flowering in late winter and early spring.

This is a medium shrub of up to 6 meters in height and about 1 meter wide.
This shrub will take quite a bit of shade. My shrub gets very little sun and is wedged between agapanthus and a big Grevillia. I would rarely water and my soil is full clay. They do best in a protected position.
Slightly acid soil is best so be carefull with your grey water around these plants as it can be a little alkaline.

Pick the flowers and float them in a shallow plate of water.
